ALT for September 2012

Heart English School is seeking candidates for ongoing positions in Japanese public schools, with a special focus on the new school term from September 2012. Positions are in elementary, junior high, and high schools, with locations all across eastern Japan, with the largest focus on the Kanto region near Tokyo, in a wide range of environments. Contracts range in amount of working days and hours, so those looking for more freedom regarding working schedules may have interest.

We may have positions available immediately, and will be interested to hear from those available earlier, but the vast majority of positions begin in late August or the start of September for that school term.

Positions in public schools include assistants to the Japanese English teacher (Assistant Language Teacher, or ALT) or more independent teaching with company support (Native English Teacher, or NET).

Whichever the position, the work involves the education and internationalization of Japanese young people in their own environment. ALTs and NETs teach during classtime, but also eat with students at lunch, play with them during recess or during sports practice, and in general socialize with the children to give them the chance to use English naturally with a native speaker. The work is very rewarding and the chance to impact hundreds of lives is there, with the many joys and responsibilities that go along with it.
