Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Procurement & Supplies, the holder of the position will have the following responsibilities for:

1.    Cost-conscious procurement for research equipment

2.    Proper preparation for purchase/tender from a viewpoint of compliance

3.    Arrangement for tendering/purchasing schedule and budgetary conditions in collaborating with budget/accounting section

4.    Support for drafting specification, and other required documents for tender

5.    Communication with each research units/technical support sections to make better understanding for procurement Policies, rules and procedures

6.    Making strategy of international procurement including logistic, import and direct deal

7.    Establishing ideal process for procurement of research equipment by finance workflow (closely related among budget, procurement, accommodation, acceptance, and payment)

Qualifications:

(Required)

1.    Experience of research or purchase activities in research organization

2.    Bilingual Japanese and English

3.    Bachelor degree

 (Preferred)

1.      Academic degree of science background is an advantage

2.      Highly-motivated to be a supply chain specialist

3.      Cost-conscious, responsible, patient, honest, curious and creativity

4.      Communication skills

Term: Full-time, fixed term appointment for 2 years contract initially with 1 month probationary period. This contract may be renewed and has a potential for permanent employment
