Job Description



Client Overview:


A global company that drives excellence and innovation in wafer processing technology as well as in sharing this technology to semiconductor fabrication plants around the world. This organization focuses on creating CVD (Chemical Vapor Despostion) and ALD (Atomic Layer Desposition) in which they are the leading supplier.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for initiating and leading supplier development programs and audits in order to ensure competitive advantage through global competitive sourcing, utilizing approved sources where appropriate

  • Successful candidate will hold the key role in technical in qualification, support and auditing key suppliers with a specific role of ensuring implementation of robust, well-defined and controlled manufacturing processes. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Work hand-in-hand with design engineering and suppliers to drive continuous improvement and jointly identify areas for cost opportunities

  • Resolve production/field material quality issues including Failure analysis and issuing SCAR (8D)

  • Perform investigations and make decision and initiate/track corrective and preventative measures for any deviation/rejection of product.

  • Implement ‘Should Cost” analysis for key assemblies

  • Perform periodic system and process audits at supplier’s facilities to assure compliance to factory, customer and ISO requirements

  • Track and drive supplier improvement to meet factory and customers’ quality expectation.

  • Drive Copy Exactly! Performance at suppliers

  • Manage suppliers for change approvals and quality performances

  • Ensure supplier qualification forms are accurate, completed and posted

  • Ensure effective corrective actions from suppliers for all quality failures by suppliers

  • Provide statistical methods implementation support across a wide range of vendor functions (e.g., R&D, design engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, et al) and situations

  • Initiate and manage failure analysis at suppliers

  • Independently lead supplier improvement projects and improvement groups.

  • Up to 50% business travel based on engineer domicile and business need


Required Skills



  • BS Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Physics, et al), MS preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience in engineering and/or design of complex mechanical systems including one or more of the following: precision machining, thermal systems, motion controls, power/RF, gas systems and critical materials

  • Specific expertise in motion controls such as robots, aligners and controllers used in the semiconductor equipment industry preferred

  • Knowledge of  ISO 9001, 8D, Lean, IPC6XX, SPC, ISO 14001 standards and auditing skills

  • Knowledge in supplier quality management. Ideally trained as Lead Auditor.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across all supply chain/partner geographies, functions, cultures, et al

  • Team player with excellent project management and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated effective performance in a matrix environment

  • Excellent communication skills in all forms (written, oral, presentations, et al)

  • Six Sigma Green or Black belt or equivalent quality tools/methodologies training and/or certification

  • Strong working knowledge and experience in structured problem solving

  • Excellent logical decision-making ability

  • Highly positive, motivating, and results-focused attitude

  • Must be comfortable with and capable of working independently when necessary
