Description
As a sales engineer, you’ll combine technical knowledge with sales skills. The balance depends on the level of technical knowledge and understanding you’ll need to sell the systems and product you’re offering and to respond to clients’ queries. The Sales Engineer is also responsible for achieving the sales targets, negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions. The other task is to build and maintain good relationship with customer at all times, generating technical proposals, project site visits, gathering information of the project leads, interaction with other internal department, designing of systems, obtaining quotes, cost and quantities of equipment needed and generating the calculation sheet.

Primary Job Functions:



Visualizing and conceptually designing control, protection and automation systems for all technical proposals.



Responsible for preparing tender bids and proposals and meeting deadlines



Liaise with suppliers and contractors during the preparation of the technical proposal and tender bid



Regularly attend all sales meetings and provide feedback with regards to information and intelligence on ongoing/upcoming tenders.



Entertain customers as and when required exceeding office hours and on weekends.



Business development activities such as searching for new clients who could benefit from our products and systems in a designated region



Travelling to visit potential clients and project sites



Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers



Managing and interpreting customer requirements



Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs



Calculating client quotations



Negotiating tender and contract terms



Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing to terms and conditions



Offering after-sales support services



Administering client accounts



Analyzing costs and sales



Preparing reports for head office



Meeting regular sales targets



Recording and maintaining client contact data



Coordinating sales projects



Marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events



Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product and systems will meet client needs and attending client’s presentations.



Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education



Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts



Solving client problems



Providing training and producing support material for the sales team
