- Support the KAM for the evaluation and preparation of the technical response to customer RFx and projects. In particular the SC is responsible for those chapters or questions related to FSP Statements of Compliances (SOC), Network Designs and Bill of Materials. Together with the Regional BD and MD Manager, the SC is responsible for defining the most optimized technical solution from both, the technical and economical perspective. This includes the product selection and product configuration.
- Conceptual studies on network architectures and functionalities.
- Network studies, network calculations and availability calculations.
- Support for customer presentations in co-operation with Business and Market Development and Account Management.
- Support of strategic customers for general technical consulting, network optimization, network planning, and network upgrades.
- Feedback to Market and Business Development concerning market requirements and market trends as detected in RFX.
- Technical trainings on FSP solutions and network planning to ADVA System Consultants and ADVA sales and channel partners.
- Preparation of global reports on RFX processed (contents, market trends, new customer requirements, etc).
- Degree in telecommunications / electronics engineering or similar qualification.
- 1-2 years’ experience within technical sales or project execution team.
- General knowledge of telecommunications, in particular WDM and optical networking.
- Basic knowledge of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) recommended.
- Basic knowledge of SDH, Metro Ethernet/IP is valuable.
- Basic knowledge of management systems for transport networks.
- Innovative and open mindset, independent working style.
- Organisational skills, ability to reduce complex issues to practical solutions.
- Good analytical skills.
- Good English language skills, both spoken and written.
- Strong communication skills and capacity for teamwork.

Job Description
The systems consultant (SC) is responsible within the regional Technical Sales Team Japan for the whole spectrum of pre-sales technical support to the ADVA sales force. In particular, the regional SC is responsible for ADVA Key Account Managers (KAM) to prepare optimized FSP network designs and quotations for customer specific projects or RFx (Request for Information, Proposal or Quotation).
The SC should always aim for providing the most optimized solution, keeping in mind not only the technical requirements but also the market competition and the pricing constraints.
The Systems Consultant will work in close co-operation with a dedicated, experienced Regional Business and Market Development Manager and the corporate Proposal Management and Network Consultant Team (PM&NC).
