CASHIER-CHECKER (Sakana Snack Bar) NTE: 30 Sep 201 - Air Force Nonappropriated Fund (AFNAF) Services Career Program - 日本

Sells a variety of merchandise items such as prepackaged snacks, tobacco products, and candy. Operates a cash register, rings up the sale, receives money and makes change, processes credit card sale, or charges to member’s account. At the end of each tour of duty clears the cash register and turns over cash and supporting documents as instructed. Conducts daily inventory, maintains area in clean and orderly condition. In a Food Activity: Performs check-out duties such as ringing up food, beverages and merchandise by individual item; totaling sales; processing credit card sales, receiving money; and making change. May perform related food service duties such as assisting in setting up the serving line, replenishing beverage dispensers, ensuring kitchen staff is advised when buffet line needs replenishment. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : Applicant must have experience in clerical, office or retail work of any kind in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Experience must include demonstrated ability to perform common arithmetic problems, to make change when receiving payments from customers, and to use cash accountability control methods. Must possess good communication skills and skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate and/or complete food handler’s training. Must satisfactory complete a local installation records check and a National Agency Checks. May be required to work irregular tour of duty, to include weekends, evenings, and holidays. Must be able to work uncommon shifts, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY: Announcements are open to all applicants. However, only applicants in the local area, meeting the required eligibility will be considered. To be eligible to be selected for a USAF NAF position at Yokota AB, you must be:


· Assigned to the commuting area (command-sponsorship), and


· Part of the military and/or civilian component (Department of Defense personnel assigned to Japan and certain contractors who contract enables command-sponsorship), and


· Maintain a valid DoD ID card for overseas area; OR


· U.S. Citizen without SOFA/Command Sponsorship status residing in the local area. Final employment offer is subject to approval and subject to satisfactory completion of background checks. Applicants who are not currently Command Sponsored/SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement) sponsored MUST be eligible to meet local immigration requirements prior to appointment.
