PRIMARY FUNCTION: Quality Control Manager I manages QC processes and activities for medium sized DoD construction projects.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Quality Control Manager I typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Assure all project-related work plans and project-specific documents necessary for performing project QC activities are onsite
Review subcontractor quality plans for compliance to requirements
Inspect work conformance to contract and design documents
Understand drawings and specifications
Implement the Three Phase Control System
Develop daily quality control reports, prepare and issue detailed meeting minutes, and assist with post construction reports
Use Submittal Register to track and assure required materials are approved in a timely manner.
Manage in-depth technical reviews of submittals against design documents
Proactively initiate deficiencies and non-conformances documentation, and monitor and verify corrective actions
Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality or non-compliance with design documents
Verify materials received are same as those identified in approved submittals and complete material receipt inspection checklists
Coordinate, witness, and document 3rd Party testing, special inspections, and commissioning of building systems
Document all tests and results
Coordinate and document completion inspection process
Manage a timely project closeout to include compilation and turnover of all required documents
RMS/QCS management to include Invoicing the Client
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
BS OR MS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management. The degree must be from a 4-yer accredited college/university
5 years’ experience serving as Quality Control Manager on construction projects
3 years’ experience as Quality Control Manager on DOD or other Federal Government construction projects
Experience must include the completion of a minimum of one project with a minimum contract value of $10M or more and the project must have been successfully completed and accepted by the customer within past 5 years
Strong Microsoft Word and Excel user
CMAA Certification preferred
Per client requirements, you must be a US citizen.
Willing to travel abroad on assignments in the vicinity of site for 1 to 3 years
Possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance through the US Government
Have the ability to obtain Status of Force Agreement (SOFA) status for Japan and Korea and International Drivers Licence
Experience working on CAA or ICD 705 projects is preferred
US Army Corp of Engineers experience is preferred
Completed training in the area of construction quality control within the past 3 years
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong technical and communication skills are critical
Working Knowledge of RMS/QCS systems
Strong understanding of Change Order Management Principals
Ability to manage diverse workforce to include Foreign Nationals
Ability to operate in stressful environment, long hours, and remote locations
Strong verbal and written skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Autocadd capability is preferred
