THE ROLE

Tesla Motors is looking for a Charging Specialist to work on one of the most progressive vehicle brands in the world. This position requires a high level customer and employee interaction, so the ideal candidate will not only possess the technical acumen, but also the ability to provide a strong level of customer service.  Located at our Tokyo Service Office, this position requires collaboration with Tesla Sales, Vehicle Service and Executive Staff to proactively improve the owner experience for a rapidly growing customer base.

The overall responsibility of this role is to ensure Tesla owners are able to procure charging capability at their home and or office. As a charging specialist you will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Tesla Owners, various internal departments, outside contractors, building managers and relevant government branches.

Qualified persons may have a background in construction, government, automotive or clean tech industries. Candidates will thrive in both an independent and team environment. You must be able to proactively seek out projects that enhance Ownership Experience while completing daily tasks accurately and with minimal oversight. Most importantly, your core value includes a desire to exceed customer expectations, answer questions before they are asked and ensure every aspect of charging their vehicle is a true pleasure.

Your responsibilities for this role include

- Evaluating the needs of our customers and work in a creative, pro-active manner to develop a charging solution which improves the Owner Experience.

- Responsible for trouble shooting

- Training and coaching of internal team on how to conduct vehicle and charging orientation. Keeping them up to date on the best way to support our clients.

- Determine if a customer can install a charging point in the premises and if a permit is required

- Developing the home charging workflow and constantly refine it to improve its efficiency

- Sourcing, Management and Evaluation of our External Vendors

- Negotiate for our customers the installation terms and procedure with their building association and owner(s).

- Partner with Tesla Delivery team to support our customers’ inquiries.

- Tracking and Reporting on the progress of installation projects

- Keeping up to date on the latest technologies and charging solutions available in the Japan Market.

- Develop expertise in EV technology; work with Electricians and Owners to complete receptacle and connector installations.

- Create a network of trusted electricians and contractors which meet Tesla’s high standards

職務内容



– お客様のニーズを判断しお客様に相応しい充電ソリューションを構築



– 充電に関するトラブルシューティング



– 車両および充電操作に関するオリエンテーション実施のための社内研修・指導の実施、お客様サポート方法に関する他の社員へ指導



– お客様の敷地内での充電設備設置の不可、許可申請の有無の確認



– 自宅での充電ワークフローの開発、改善および効率化



–   外注先の選定、管理および評価



– お客様のための充電設備設置に関する条件および設置方法に関する交渉



– 納車チームと連携してお客様の問い合わせに対応



– 充電設備設置に関するプロジェクトの進捗状況の追跡および報告



– 日本で利用可能な最新の充電技術およびソリューションの情報収集



– 電気自動車関連技術への専門知識の構築、電気工事士およびオーナーと連携した充電コネクターおよびコンセント設置



– テスラの高い基準を満たす信頼できる電気工事士および業務外注先のネットワークの構築

Required Skills

- Project management skills and ability to partner closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationship both internally and externally

- Engineering degree or technical background preferred

- Business level  English communications preferred.

- Understanding of electrical code, building permits and local laws.

- Willingness to learn new and innovative automotive technologies.
