Product Marketing Manager - CareerCross - 2015



Sensing & Control (S&C) has an exciting opportunity for a Product Marketing Manager position in Malaysia. This role will be responsible for developing business growth strategy by closely working with all functions and manage business performance for all S&C’s product portfolio in the country. The successful candidate will deliver strong financial results by developing clear, comprehensive and compelling strategic plans; effective development and implementation of product roadmaps, promotions and pricing strategies; and by providing business and marketing leadership in respective country. 


This position has a solid line reports to S&C AP Marketing Leader and a dotted line reports to country business leader. He/she will need to manage a product specialist/application engineer in that country. 


Primary Responsibilities of this role will include: 


Country Strategy deployment 


• Champion country AOP and STRAP Planning process. 



• Working in conjunction with the global product management develop and maintain long-term product roadmaps for the country 



• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans focused on growing sales and 



increasing profitability. 


Product Management 


• Portfolio analysis and assessment to identify revenue and growth plans by market and product segment. 



• Working closely with the global product management team, develop strong business cases to identify and support new product development initiatives. 



• Define customer needs and product requirements to ensure the needs of target customer segments are considered in the STRAP and Technology development projects 



• Effectively lead product launches in close partnership with channel leadership and field sales team. Provide sales team with tools and resources to market new products 



• Establish appropriate business requirements for the manufacturing and supply chain teams; such as demand forecasting and safety stock levels 


Product Marketing 


• Gather intelligence on market trends, customer needs, competitive positioning, & technology advancements. 



• Champion RFQs internally to create winning proposals to customers. 



• Responsible for pricing in the country for all product lines maximizing revenue and profitability. 



• Work closely with marketing communications to create marketing plans and generate end user demand 



• Work with country sales leader to establish new product sales goals and targets for sales team 



Customer Relationship Management 



• Develop strong rapport with key growth accounts by making regular visits, exploring specific needs & anticipating new opportunities 



• Be the product champion in front of the customer delivering on compelling value propositions resulting new business opportunities 



• Work closely with the channel management team to ensure effective new product launches resulting lead generation. 




 






Basic Qualifications: 


• BA/BS in Business or Technical or Engineering field 



• Minimum 8-10 years of working experience in S&C related industries with extensive experience in positions of increasing responsibility (Marketing, Sales, Business Development) 



• A minimum of 5 years product marketing/manager experience (including P&L accountability) 



• Minimum 2 years of previous experience leading teams. 



• Excellent communication and presentation skill in both English and local language. 



• Strong MS Office proficiency is a must 



• Must be willing to travel up to 30%. 



• Must have strong decision-making and problem solving skills 



• Must have strong analytical skills 


Preferred Experience: 


• Demonstrated success and hands on experience in product marketing management. 



• Balance of strategic skills to identify marketing opportunities and trends as well as tactical pragmatic marketing implementation skills. 



• Strong business acumen and business-oriented mindset, and an in-depth understanding of the marketing and financial implications of new opportunities. 



• Track record of establishing short and long term market and product growth goals, then executing operating plans to achieve them. 



• Experience in managing product/solution and vertical segment based marketing campaigns to support sales pipeline 



• Ability to see the big picture while staying hands on 



• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, anticipate and manage the different stakeholders requirement and expectations 



• Ability to collaborate and influence and competency in cross functional behavior
