Senior Project Safety Manager - Gilbane - 日本

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Senior Project Safety Manager administers the safety program and serves as safety advisor, ensuring safety compliance by the project team and all employees and subcontractors working at the site.


TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Senior Project Safety Manager typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:


Support all safety efforts on the project and promote Gilbane Cares safety culture


Make recommendations concerning the modification, improvement, or removal of any company equipment, facilities, or machinery that is hazardous to employee safety or health


Ensure contractor activities are pre-planned for safety through scope review, pre-construction meetings, JHA review, etc.


Ensure contractors meet Gilbane Safety submittal requirements


Ensure contractor compliance to Gilbane safety plan including but not limited to, safety submittals, training and equipment inspection and other documentation (i.e., Substance abuse testing records, etc.)


Ensure project teams perform Safety net inspections per company policy


Administer safety Motivational programs


Provide safety training to project teams on Gilbane, client and OSHA requirements


Investigate all accidents and complete all paperwork required by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or state regulations


Maintain all safety related documentation


Supervise, coach, mentor and assistant Project Safety Manager


Ensure contractors meet Gilbane safety expectations


Alert managers and employees to the hazards of working with toxic fumes, dangerous chemicals, and any other hazardous substances in the company workplace


Coach project teams in effective hazard identification and correction of issues


Serve as company liaison with OSHA, Insurance carriers and other regulatory agencies


Responsible for staffing, development and supervision of project safety managers


Analyze and provide trending reports and actions for project team in SafetyNet


Develop and administer safety training plan for staff


Manage all correspondence to insurance, OSHA and regulatory bodies


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION


Construction Health and Safety Technician credential and advanced safety training, or BS in Occupational Safety Management


5 years of construction safety management experience


Certified as an OSHA 500 Trainer


Per our client requirements, must be a US citizen


Willing to travel abroad on assignments in the vicinity of site for 1 to 3 years


Possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance through the US Government


Have the ability to obtain Status of Force Agreement (SOFA) status for Japan and Korea and International Driver’s License


Experience working on CAA or ICD 705 projects is preferred


US Army Corp of Engineers experience is preferred


Or equivalent combination of education and experience


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES


Sound knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques and methods


Sound knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations and policies


Capable of identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective action


Ability to work in a team environment


Strong computer skills and familiarity the Microsoft Office suite


Management, leadership and interpersonal skills


Strong written and verbal communication skills


Strong technical skills are critical


OSHA 30 hour certified


Strong understanding of Change Order Management Principals


Ability to manage diverse workforce to include Foreign Nationals
