Mobile learning is one the most exciting unexplored spaces in tech. We expect to see mobile devices literally transform the way we learn in the years ahead, and Cerego is positioning itself at the front of this wave. We have popular iPhone and Android apps out that automatically synch up with the PC service, and mobile is one of the pillars of our company strategy. To strengthen our mobile development team, we’re looking for someone with a strong background in either iOS or Android development, and preferably some knowledge of both.

Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Design and implementation of mobile applications (iPhone / iPad / Android / …) from the ground up
- Integration with server-side web services to create functional cross-platform applications

Qualifications
Requirements:

- Strong programming and information design skills
- Ability and desire to learn new technologies quickly
- Strong object oriented programming and design skills
- Working in a fast paced agile environment with continuous integration, unit/integration testing
- Estimating and scoping development work accurately
- Experience with Git source control
- Strong sense of ownership and detail-orientation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Experience and understanding of the various mobile/web platform UI design guidelines;
- Background of working in interdisciplinary teams with at least 2 developers
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written business English + conversational Japanese or good English and native Japanese)

We prefer those who can demonstrate experience in:
- At least six months of experience developing commercial iOS/Android applications
- At least 3 years of development experience in general
- Understanding of Objective-C and Java
- Working experience with the iPhone SDK and knowledge of the Android SDK (or the other way around)
- Experience writing multithreaded code
- Java coding & debugging skills
- Experience and understanding of the various mobile platform UI design guidelines

Language Skills
- native Japanese with good English communication skills (email, meetings), or
- fluent English speakers with good Japanese (basic reading is a must)

Working hours
- Monday to Friday, 10:00 - 19:00

This key role will have the following responsibilities:

- Demonstrate application and product leadership in the markets we choose to serve. Provide technical and application seminars.
- Provide demonstrable examples of the efficacy and versatility of the value proposition with data driven though thoughtful experimental design, sensitivity to customer perceptions and clarity of presentation.
- The applications work will range from training distributors in applications and solving individual customer problems to addressing issues that have implications for entire markets.
- Work with marketing department to write Technical Application Notes, and publish technical papers on Japan professional magazines or journals.
- Prepare/update and translate the support materials and articles from GEAI USA.
- The position will also serve an important voice in representing the customer to Aftermarket and R&D groups on issues involving both sustaining engineering and new product activities.
- Participation in new product launches to ensure that application related product positioning and operating specifications are optimally positioned
- Design and maintain an applications project selection process that maximizes profit return to the company
- Maintain an applications laboratory that also serves as a demonstration lab for customers.
- Review and report Japan market periodically.

- Working experience in instruments company
- Market area in pharmaceutical or bio pharmaceutical

- Bachelor degree in either engineering or science is required. Ph.D. or MS in chemistry related area is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of recent relevant marketing and leadership.
- An independent, self-starter with ability to travel extensively.
- Good public speech/presentation skills
- Excellent writing/oral skills in English and Japanese
- Excellent communications skills
