POSITION SUMMARY:

Assume primary responsibility for the strategy, planning and implementation of  marketing, press relations, editorial activities and alumni relations in Japan. Work to drive business by raising awareness with target clients/prospects, increasing credibility and demand in the marketplace for specific products, and helping us stay connected and top of mind with existing relationships. Act as advisor to the management team on all marketing issues. Manage marketing resources. Act as keeper of our brand and influence office culture and morale.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

?Take the lead in developing and proposing Tokyo office marketing plan to the Tokyo office leadership team.  Manage Tokyo marketing budget and additional marketing resources (i.e. subordinates, project team members and/or external specialists)?Drive and lead public relations initiatives.?Take a lead role in the local risk management team in terms of developing and executing media communications during crisis for the office, working closely with global PR.?Plan and manage the entire book publications process.

?Plan and manage execution of marketing events.

?Coordinate with Partners on client development activities and progress with various target companies:

?Oversee Contact database for Tokyo

?Manage electronic newsletter distribution (Results Brief and practice areas):

?Maintain local office website content

?Manage placement of our By-line articles in Japanese publications

?Manage the marketing infrastructure for the office

?Participate as an active member of the regional and global marketing team

?Act as key point of contact and coordinate responses to potential client inquiries, track them and propose ways to enhance client development opportunities for the office

?Manage local alumni relations program, taking the lead in transitioning outgoing employees into positive promoters with significant collaboration with local Partner,Executive Assistant (EA) group and HR.?Perform other related duties as assigned or as responsibilities dictate.?If there is no marketing coordinator, assume the responsibility of the marketing coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS degreePrior experiences in public relations, press relations and event organization acquired in a PR firm, media company or marketing/communication functionStrong interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills; ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent written and oral communication skills both in English and JapaneseAutonomy, sense of initiative and planning skillsCustomer service mindsetFriendly, approachable and professionalAbility to deal with highly confidential informationTeam playerAttention to detailAbility to react quickly and efficiently to crisesNegotiation skills with suppliersSound sense of judgmentProactive and motivatedInterest in the substance and commercial impact of our work
