Native Speaking English Teacher

Clark Memorial International High School, a member of SOSHI Education Group is seeking a competent, professional native speaking English teacher for a part-time position in the Hamamatsu/Shizuoka area, starting early April 2015.

There is great autonomy in this role and both campuses are friendly, intimate working places. Teachers can expect to teach approximately 20 lessons per week to mixed level/ability students. The current schedule has the teacher teaching 3 days per week at Hamamatsu Campus (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday) and commuting via Shinkansen to Shizuoka campus (Thursday) one day per week. There is some flexibility in the weekly schedule in that the successful applicant can choose to work ‘full days’, i.e 8.30am-5pm, or negotiate and reduce their daily working hours.

The campuses are looking for a bright, personable character who has some experience teaching in a Japanese junior/senior high school, can use Japanese with some ease in order to deal with administration and support low level English learners. Other duties might include coordinating club activities like basketball, tennis, speech contest preparation; making/grading tests and participating in weekly campus meetings.

We offer the security of a fixed monthly salary as well as health insurance benefits. 1 year contracts are long-term renewable, based on performance…in a nut shell, if the relationship ‘works out’ SOSHI Education Group can provide long term job-security.

Interviews will be scheduled through January and, if required, February.
