Public School ALT - Shizuoka

ALTIA CENTRAL is currently accepting applications to join our team for an immediate opening in Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Gotemba City is literally right on the side of Mt. Fuji, a very beautiful and central location. This position is a mixed position at 3 very nice schools - 1 junior high and 2 local elementary schools - and driving is necessary.

We will be conducting interviews on an ongoing basis at our head office in Nagoya, as well as likely making an upcoming visit to Shizuoka City, in order to find just the right positive and friendly person as we can to fill this opening.

Our company, ALTIA CENTRAL, enjoys an excellent reputation and is a highly respected company both with Boards of Education and amongst the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with several contracts in the Kansai area as well.

We offer a stable, reliable and extremely professional support system and our ALTs enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including generously paid vacation periods. We also provide excellent teacher training, an amazing array of educational resources and other benefits. Please visit our recruiting website for further details about our organization.

ALTs work in public schools assisting the Japanese teachers, and helping to provide a positive and energetic experience through English for the students. It’s a great chance to learn and use the Japanese language on a daily basis, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly to be positively involved with the development of young children. If you have the desire to accept this type of responsibility, please contact ALTIA CENTRAL.

Successful applicants should be available for Orientation/Training for 4 full days before starting in school from early to mid-November.

You must be flexible, enjoy working with young children, and be motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for their students. A strong desire to live and work in Japan, good Japanese language skills, and teaching experience with young learners is also highly recommended. A minimum BA/BS degree is required, and a degree in a relevant field such as Japanese, Japanese History, East Asian Studies, Linguistics and the like are particularly useful though not absolutely necessary.

*Please understand that only applicants considered for interview will be contacted and that we do not have any positions in or near the greater Tokyo area.

Public School ALTs in Nagaizumi city, Shizuoka

ALTIA CENTRAL is now accepting applications to join our team from April 2012 in Nagaizumi city, Shizuoka prefecture. These are full time public school ALT positions, 1 position at 2 Junior High schools and the other at 3 Elementary schools. ALTs work in public schools assisting the Japanese teachers, and helping to provide a positive and energetic experience through English for the students.

Nagaizumi is a town of only 40,000 people but is nestled between Numazu city (200,000) and Mishima city (100,000) and not far from Fuji city as well. This a very nice area on the northern end of the Izu penninsula with a daily view of Mt. Fuji.

We would prefer our ALTs to live in or near the towns they work in but commuting in from other areas is not out of the question. Driving is preferred but this position does not actually require driving as the schools are not very spread out and can be accessed by train, bike or on foot as well from center of town.

ALTIA CENTRAL enjoys an excellent reputation and is a highly respected company both with Boards of Education and amongst the English teaching community in Japan. Most of our ALT positions are in prefectures such as Aichi, Shizuoka, Gifu, Mie and Shiga in central Japan, as well as other positions south of here in Osaka, Okayama and Hiroshima prefectures. Our ALT positions offer the opportunity to join a great company and experience working in the public school system. You get a chance to learn and use the Japanese language on a daily basis, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly to be positively involved with the development of young children.

If you have the desire to accept this type of responsibility, please contact ALTIA CENTRAL. We offer a stable, reliable and professional support system and our ALTs enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including generous, fully-paid vacation periods. We also provide excellent teacher training, an amazing array of educational resources, apartments and other benefits. Please visit our website at http://recruiting.altmoot.com/ for further details on benefits and support and more about our organization and which areas we operate in.
