Marketing and Member Relations
The IBA Japan Secretariat is small (in total a staff of six) but supports members in the planning, coordination, and execution of all its activities. This position is available from early January and the post holder will report to the Secretary General.
Responsibilities:
The job holder will be responsible for the following activities:
• Gauges demand, plans, liaises with speakers and all associated tasks in co-ordinating IBA Japan’s extensive Information Forum programme. These are held throughout the year and the post holder helps in the sourcing of speakers, shaping content to meet members’ requirements and associated administrative tasks.
• Engages in relationship management with members to recognize their needs, raise awareness of the Association’s activities and gain an understanding of their business activities.
• Is responsible for the content, look and feel, and maintenance of the website and social media outlets.
• Develops marketing materials to enhance IBA Japan’s brand and complement the Associations various activities.
• Co-ordinates the outsourcing of translations: quality assurance, contract relations etc.
• Writes minutes to various IBA Japan committee meetings.
• Carries out various administrative activities.
Qualifications and skills:
The post holder is likely to have the following profile:
• University degree
• Work experience (including experience in Japan), in financial services, marketing, public relations, government, a non-profit organization, or in a related field.
• Good organizational and relationship management skills.
• Strong interpersonal qualities.
• Native level English and good business-level Japanese skills.
• Good written and oral presentation communication skills.
• Familiarity with office IT software and capacity to manage IBA Japan Website.
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment as part of a small team.
• A flexible approach and willingness to take on new challenges.
Additional information:
• This job will be offered on contract (which is renewable).
• The salary is negotiable.

Assistant Professor (International Relations)

Overview of position:
The successful candidate will be required to teach a range of introductory and advanced undergraduate courses as part of TUJ’s Political Science and International Affairs majors. Core courses are likely to include Introduction to International Relations, Comparative Politics, and/or International Political Economy. He/she may also be asked to teach an introductory course on research methods. There will also be opportunities to teach elective courses based around the individual’s particular research specialism.
Further to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to assist with the organization and development of the Political Science major. This will involve scheduling classes, helping select and oversee adjunct instructors, and advising undergraduate students.

As one of the Company's spokespersons, he/she will be charged with developing first class English language press releases, including financial, product and regulatory, preparing reactive messages, as well as briefing Tokyo-based journalists of leading global media outlets.

The Assistant Coordinator EMR will work with the Coordinator EMR in the general administration of the organization’s events, and in developing and executing marketing strategy and affiliations with domestic (Japanese) and international universities, educational institutions, publishing organizations and corporations.
The Assistant Coordinator will also act as the Special Assistant to the Chairman of the International Advisory Board and the Executive Director in the administration of the Japan International Liaison Committee, a Tokyo-based steering committee for the planned IAFOR Research Institute.
The ideal candidate will be confident in both written and spoken English and Japanese, and have excellent interpersonal and communicative skills. The candidate will be interested in working in a challenging international environment, with the strong opportunity for professional development and internal promotion.
A familiarity with Excel and MS word is expected.
