Kindergarten/Elementary Teacher
Waseda International School whose mission is to provide a rigorous international educational experience at an affordable price.

Role:
Teachers hold primary responsibility for the implementation of standards based on the U.S.A.`s Common Core Learning Standards as well as the school`s curriculum, instruction of content, and, most importantly, the success of W.I.S. students.

Specific Responsibilities:
•Implement curricula to meet academic standards;
•Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic
standards;
•Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;
•Participate in curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide
functions;
•Provide consistent and high academic and behavioral expectations;
•Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues; and
•Participate in an intensive staff development and training for one week
prior to the school year.

Qualifications:
•A dedicated belief in W.I.S.`s mission, values, and educational model;
•An eagerness to set ambitious, challenging, and tangible goals, and a
relentless drive to achieve them;
•An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, educational environment and a
capacity to remain calm and focused when faced with unexpected
challenges;
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong public
speaking skills;
•A sense of humility in the face of success;
•Bachelor’s degree is required; and
•Current authorization to work in Japan is preferred– A candidate may receive visa sponsorship.

Compensation:
We offer a modest compensation package, including, when relevant, a salary
equal to (and in some cases above) comparable international schools

Job Requirements
B.S. in Elementary Education required
M.S.Ed. preferred
English As a Second Language experience
