Immersion Kindergarten Program Assistant Supervisor
TISKG is a three-year international kindergarten program that provides an immersion environment (children must attend at least 3 days per week) for non-native English speaking children. Students attend classes from 9:15am until 2pm. The first year of this program is an immersion focus where the aim is to build a solid base of communicative ability. In the second year the students are introduced to the inquiry learning model and this style of learning is further reinforced in the third year. The maximum number of students per class is 12.
We are currently looking to hire an Assistant Supervisor who will be responsible for helping us to train teachers within this program, be involved in ongoing curriculum development, and cover when teachers are absent.
POSITION DETAILS: The work week is Monday to Friday. Paid vacation days are every Saturday and Sunday, public holidays, five days paid leave, one week during summer, and two weeks in winter. The daily work schedule is either 9:00am to 18:00pm on in-office days or 8:00am to 17:00pm on school visit and coverage days, but it must be mentioned that the Assistant Supervisor is expected to work the hours necessary to help run the program and give the schools and the teachers the highest possible level of support.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher, and experience manager. Candidates must have a university degree in early childhood education, with at least 2 years experience working in Japan.
LOCATION: Our HQ is located near Meguro station. This is where the Assistant Supervisor will be located during in-office days.
START DATE: The start date is flexible but ideally we would like to have the successful candidate start before the end of October.
COMPENSATION: The starting wage will be 330,000 for a 3 month probation period before increasing to 350,000 per month. Transportation is fully reimbursed.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS: We will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews for candidates who are able to come to our Meguro HQ, or Skype web-interviews for those who can’t. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. Once a final decision has been made we will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will then be invited in to sign employment documentation.
We look forward to receiving your application.
