Our client, a huge private English teaching school is hiring a large number of English instructors for the Tokai region.

Requirements:
- You must have an eligible work permit in Japan
- English is your first language

Salary: JPY199,800 - JPY269,700
(depends on the number of lesson per week)

*For your reference, here is a breakdown of the approximate salary for a 34 lesson/week contract.

(Base 800 yen + Assignment 200 yen + Additional allowances 200 yen + Regularity 150 yen) X (34 lessons per week X 4.35 average weeks per month) = 199,665 yen per month

The actual total will be determined by the exact number of scheduled lessons in each particular calendar month.

(The average number of scheduled lessons on a 34 lesson/week contract is 147.9, but some months it will be slightly higher and some months it will be slightly lower.)

Once you complete the initial probationary period, the additional allowance amounts will vary according to the number of students and the types of classes that you teach.

Salary is calculated from the first day of the month to the last day of the month and deposited into your bank account on the 15th of the following month.

Contract Length
In principle, contract lengths of six months or twelve months will be offered.
·Six-month contracts will be offered to those with less than 20 scheduled lessons per week.
·Twelve-month contracts will be offered to those with more than 20 scheduled lessons per week.
?However, contract length may vary depending on instructor evaluation results, visa type and expiry.

Probation Period
The probation period will be one or two full months.
·For six-month contracts the probation period will be one full month.
·For twelve-month contracts the probation period will be two full months.

Salary Increments
The skill allowance shall be determined based on individual evaluation results.
·The initial skill allowance shall be determined following the successful completion of the probation period to a maximum of 200 yen.
·The skill allowance shall be determined at each contract renewal and determined according to the individual evaluation results.

Transportation Allowance
Up to 100 yen for each lesson worked will be paid. The monthly pass or actual cost may be paid instead according to the shifts.

Incentive System
Cumulative amounts paid after successful completion of contract.
JPY10,000: An average of 3.5 students per lesson for the month
JPY15,000: An average of 3.75 students per lesson for the month

2. Dress Code Policy
Men
Appropriate: Knotted tie, pressed business shirt, preferably a suit jacket, pressed business trousers and business shoes
Inappropriate: Long or unusual hairstyles or unusual hair color. Visible piercings. Untidy beards or unshaven one-day growth.
Visible tattoos.

Women
Appropriate: Pressed blouse, preferably a suit jacket, pressed skirt or trousers, stockings and business shoes
Inappropriate: Sleeveless blouse, excessive jewelry or make-up, unusual hair colors or styles, visible piercings other than earlobes.
Visible tattoos.

3. Schedules
Various schedules are available to suit instructors' individual needs as well as the needs of the schools. Schools are open throughout the year, including national holidays, with the exception of a few days of closure over the New Year period. Flexible paid holidays are given after completing 6 months of employment.

Marketing and Member Relations

The IBA Japan Secretariat is small (in total a staff of six) but supports members in the planning, coordination, and execution of all its activities. This position is available from early January and the post holder will report to the Secretary General.

Responsibilities:

The job holder will be responsible for the following activities:
• Gauges demand, plans, liaises with speakers and all associated tasks in co-ordinating IBA Japan’s extensive Information Forum programme. These are held throughout the year and the post holder helps in the sourcing of speakers, shaping content to meet members’ requirements and associated administrative tasks.
• Engages in relationship management with members to recognize their needs, raise awareness of the Association’s activities and gain an understanding of their business activities.
• Is responsible for the content, look and feel, and maintenance of the website and social media outlets.
• Develops marketing materials to enhance IBA Japan’s brand and complement the Associations various activities.
• Co-ordinates the outsourcing of translations: quality assurance, contract relations etc.
• Writes minutes to various IBA Japan committee meetings.
• Carries out various administrative activities.

Qualifications and skills:

The post holder is likely to have the following profile:
• University degree
• Work experience (including experience in Japan), in financial services, marketing, public relations, government, a non-profit organization, or in a related field.
• Good organizational and relationship management skills.
• Strong interpersonal qualities.
• Native level English and good business-level Japanese skills.
• Good written and oral presentation communication skills.
• Familiarity with office IT software and capacity to manage IBA Japan Website.
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment as part of a small team.
• A flexible approach and willingness to take on new challenges.

Additional information:
• This job will be offered on contract (which is renewable).
• The salary is negotiable.
