IT Support Specialist

Being fluent in both English and Japanese, manage helpdesk requests including the troubleshooting of hardware, software applications, operating systems and network connectivity. Also monitor and support a variety of internal systems including servers, networking equipment, and PBXs as required, both on-site and remotely, developing and maintaining documentation, troubleshooting and resolving system problems individually and/or as part of a team.
Principal Accountabilities:

Provide support of desktop and laptop systems running Windows, Linux and MAC operating systemsProvide secondary support for Windows server and server applicationsProvide administrative support for PBX servicesProvide secondary support resolving PBX issuesTest and deploy new client/server applications and upgradesProvide primary support installing hardware and hardware upgrades in client, server and PBX/network equipmentMonitor and support the everyday operations of the Macrovision infrastructureImplement new systems and/or rebuild existing systems as requiredDevelopment and maintain documentation to support the management of assigned services and infrastructurePurchase or assist in the purchase of equipment and services as requiredWork with the user groups as necessary to understand business requirements to build better technology solutionsTroubleshoot, suggest and implement enhancements to infrastructureEnsure that security issues are addressed in a pro-active manner including issues such as hacking, email abuse protection of sensitive data etc.Serve as technical member on global infrastructure project teams as required

Skill requirements:

Business level English and Japanese language skillsMinimum two years experience providing end-user support in a corporate computing environmentProficient in current mainstream Microsoft Operating Systems and business/office application suites (Win2K, WinXP, Office, etc.)Basic support skills in MAC and Linux operating systemsSome experience with WAN, TCP/IP, routing, firewallsSome experience with Internet Services, email, DNS, web serversRequires occasional off-hours and weekend workGood project management skillsMCP and A+ certification preferredMust be a team-player, self-starter, goal oriented, open minded, flexible and a people oriented professionalSolid communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to travel
