Controller Tax/VAT Compliancy (M/F)
Your main responsibilities will focus on 3 main areas :
- VAT Control
- TAX Control
- Transfer Pricing
VAT Control:
- Is responsible for the correctness of the amounts of the 'VAT returns' in Belgium and Europe of all Belgian entities;
- Is responsible for the respect of the for VAT regulation
- Controls the correctness and timeliness of the VAT refunds;
- Manage the different VAT representatives in each country;
- Investigates new law changes for Belgium and Europe and if necessary proposes an actions plan
- Assess any business change and the possible impact on VAT and if necessary proposes an actions plan and implements the changes.
Tax Control (all entities in Belgium):
- Is responsible for the correctness of the amounts of the 'Tax returns' in Belgium and Europe of all Belgian entities;
- Calculates & books the monthly tax accrual (Statutory and USGAAP) and reconciles the balance sheet accounts;
- Analyze potential tax risks and document them under USGAAP (FIN 48);
- Is responsible for assuring that for all interco services contracts exists and drafts new agreements in coordination with Legal department;
- Is responsible for maintaining a good transfer pricing file for all Belgian entities and performs on a regular basis controls on the correct implementation of the various TP methods used;
- Investigates new law changes and business changes and if necessary analyze potential tax risks and/or opportunities and lead implementation for addressing these;
- Is responsible for the correct implementation of all custom regulations and performs monthly check on the correct declaration of the duties to be paid;
- Leads the implementation of AEO for KEPO from an expert level
Tax (Europe):
- Ensure a coordinated effort among the various European entities and Japan;
- Participate & lead TP projects to implement new methods and/or defend entity methods.
- Analyze potential tax risks and/or opportunities and lead implementation of good tax practices to reduce tax risk exposures (in particular in the light of US GAAP - FIN 48)
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with the various European entities on tax compliance issues, including monitoring of tax compliance work, remediation actions on identified gaps or internal control deficiencies in this specific area, etc.
- Lead various tax optimization projects with Europe
Other tasks:
- Manage the external Tax and VAT advisers
- On adhoc basis perform projects in line with the above topics
