IT Help Desk / Support Intern

American Chamber of Commerce in Japan is looking for an IT Help Desk/End-User Support Intern to provide superior face-to-face and remote support to users in all its offices in Japan. This is an unpaid internship; however, daily transportation is paid for.

As an IT Support Intern, your primary mission will be to work with our team as we maintain, grow and troubleshoot internal systems that keep the business going.

Also the intern will assist in the maintenance of IT-Area Infrastructure processes.

Principal responsibilities are:

Diagnose and resolve entry level technical hardware and software issues, responding to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, remote access and electronically.
Follow standard service desk procedures, according to ITIL V3.
Assist in the implementation of ITIL V3 Framework. Specially in Service Strategy, Service Operation and Continual Service Improvement.
Assist in the implementation of processes for COBIT 5, for controlling and internal IT audits.
Assist in the process of implementation of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Processes.
Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention and redirect problems to appropriate resource.
Requirements.

Candidates should be motivated and enthusiastic. Organizational and communication/people skills a must, as well as the ability to get along with "the team". ACCJ would like to provide an internship opportunity to university students or technical career students/ graduates who are studying related IT subjects.

Ability to communicate in English and/or Japanese in a conversational level.

Desired Skills:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Familiarity with Mac OSX environments.

• Ability to learn new processes and systems quickly, and to multitask, while remaining customer oriented. Experience troubleshooting technical issues is preferred.
