Territory Manager Japan, UK based

This company is a fast–growing company specialising in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market, they are looking to recruit a Territory Manager to manage their Sales process in Japan.

This company has won various awards such as the Queen’s Award for industry; with their head office based in a modern facility in Scotland and have a very strong reputation in the market place. The current turnover is £15m, with plans to grow significantly over the next few years. We export 90% of our sales to approximately 114 countries. This company have recently opened a number of overseas offices and are planning to set up more including Japan in the near future.
Reporting to the Asia Territory Sales Manager, this new role will be Glasgow based, involve extensive travel to Japan and will be responsible for:

• Providing sales and technical advice and support for OEMs, distributors and end users.
• Supporting customers throughout the sales process including negotiating contracts and discounts
• Developing new sources for strategic business development
• Maintaining an accurate customer database
• Working with the Asia Territory Sales manager to establish a Peak Japan office, including supporting the recruitment process.
• The successful candidate will be a customer focussed individual, who has sales experience in Japan and/or other Asian countries. You will need to be passionate about international business and be able to adapt to and communicate well with different cultures. You will be highly independent as this is a fairly autonomous role and have strong business acumen. You will be able to demonstrate excellent problem solving skills in both technical and commercial situations.
• Japanese language skills would be highly desirable but not essential for this role.
