Description:

SAIC has a current job opening for a United States Marine Corps (USMC) Subject Matter Expert (SME). This position is located in Okinawa, Japan.

JOB SUMMARY:
The USMC Subject Matter Expert (SME) must be cross-trained to support all five systems: Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS), MAGTF Secondary Imagery Dissemination System (MSIDS), Tactical Exploitation Group (TEG), Team Portable Collection System (TPCS), and Topographic Production Capability (TPC). The SME will be responsible for system maintenance and daily support of various USMC Intelligence, Communications and Electronic Warfare systems both CONUS and OCONUS.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Technical Support and Assistance: The SME will be available by phone at all times to assist deployed units as required, ensure all systems are fully operational for deployment in support of Radio Battalion exercises and operations, as directed, provide worldwide support for exercises and operations following approval from the Project Office, provide technical assistance to system demonstrations and participate in technical discussions, assist in the establishment of interoperability between systems and other radio battalion organic systems, and assist in technical support for common software applications.
- Training Assistance: The SME will assist in the performance of training analysis, training and training material evaluation by the Project Office, provide technical assistance for training development efforts by the Project Office, assist in the instruction of Instructor and Key Personnel Training (IKPT), New Equipment Training (NET), New Software Training (NST), on-site refresher training and exercise training evolutions, assist in the instruction of NET and NST, and assist in the validation of and provide summarized feedback on training material.
- System Administration: The SME shall assist in the performance of the following system administration functions: database backups, removing old and/or corrupt files, install software upgrades on all systems, Install baseline releases, Loading and Installation of hard drives, Network configuration and management, Management of User Accounts and passwords, System device installation and configuration, Software installation / removal, patches and service packs on all systems. FSE will also maintain software configuration baselines for all systems to ensure current version of software is loaded on all systems.
- Program Support: The SME shall provide Project Office-directed test support and assistance to the following Program Level test events: Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V), Field User Evaluations (FUE), Developmental Testing (DT), Operational Testing (OT), Federation of Systems (FEDOS), and New Technology Evaluations in support of research and development efforts.
- Deployments: SME personnel will be expected to deploy with the unit that they support to combat/hostile zones/unit exercises.

Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance.
•Requires a BS and 4 years’ experience / No Degree and 7 years’ experience.
•Minimum of 4 years experience to include technical knowledge and operational understanding of systems that include the following: trouble shooting, parts replacement, software upgrades, OS, testing, and operational employment.
•Ability to achieve DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.
•Must possess a valid US Passport.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Prior experience on MSIDS Platinum Core State protection.
•A+ Certification or network administration experience / certification.
•Experience in software deployment and understand computer logic and should know how to load an image and configure laptops in a standalone-disconnected environment as well as over a network.
•Ability to communicate well (written and verbally), handle pressure, work as a team member, and be detail and customer oriented in a demanding environment.
•Must maintain a professional image while representing team and company.
