Project Manager - Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency

Japan is the 2nd non-EU investor in the Netherlands. Over 450 Japanese companies use the Netherlands for their European businesses. In total over 730 Japanese entities are registered at the chamber of commerce, the Japanese community counts almost 7.000 people and around 35.000 people are directly working for a Japanese company in the Netherlands. This makes Japan an important investor in the Netherlands. The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) is responsible for attracting investments to the Netherlands and taking care of current investors. Besides the office in Tokyo, the NFIA is also located within the Consulate General in Osaka.

The Project Manager works within the NFIA team and is part of the economic cluster of the Embassy. Together we promote the Dutch economy to Japan varying from trade, science, technology and innovation exchange to attracting FDI.

If you think you can promote the investment climate of the Netherlands, be able to find and contact companies that are looking to do business outside Japan into Europe, then you could be our Project Manager NFIA. This function requires commitment, persistence and the ability to work with a wide range of contacts and partners, adopting different approaches for different projects.

The successful applicant will be working with a wide range of Japanese companies and related intermediary organizations within a governmental environment. Fluency in both English and Japanese to a high level is essential.

Main Tasks

Generate new leads and search for Japanese companies interested in an establishment in Europe.Participating in or visiting events that can generate leads.Follow-up leads and monitoring of existing investment projects.Maintain contacts with local Dutch parties involved in investment promotion, and with local intermediaries like fiscal advisors and consultants.Stay in contact with current investors (Investor Development)To work together with colleagues to achieve our goals.

The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency promotes the Netherlands as a basis for international/European activities and assists foreign (Japanese) companies considering setting up a new subsidiary or expanding an existing company. The NFIA provides companies with a range of basic information; economic, financial and statistical; assistance in organizing fact-finding trips and site selection studies, and general consultation once a company has decided to establish an operation. The NFIA can also answer questions about government incentive policies. NFIA's services are free of charge and strictly confidential.
