Recruitment / HR Generalist

Title of the position: Recruitment / HR Generalist
Department: Human Resources
Position type: Full-time
Work hours: 9:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday
Report to: Manager, Human Resources

Salary & benefit:
Commensurate with experience.
Eleven days paid vacation in the first year, increasing to 20 days after 6 years of employment, plus 5 paid “personal and sick days” each year. In addition, approximately 2 weeks university-wide break over Christmas/New Year. Japanese social insurance and pension, commuting allowance, and tuition benefits for Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) programs.

Overview of position:
Main focus is to conduct recruitment from planning schedule to conducting employee’s orientation. Also preform professional services for staff and faculty, maintain up-to-date and accurate database information, and provide support for team members.

Primary responsibilities:
- Process mid-career recruitment and act as a liaison with recruiters, TUJ departments, applicants, and recruiting agencies
- Schedule recruiting plan and implementation (job posting, resume screening, conduct interviews, and short listing candidates)
- Execute hiring process (background check and preparation of contract)
- Liaise with temp staff agencies (request candidates, interviews, and contract renewal coordination with relevant departments)
- Maintain employees’ records and database
- Conduct entry orientations for new staff members and adjunct faculty
- Request and compile new/return faculty information and keep track of schedule by program each semester

Secondary responsibilities:
- Organize annual health check for employees
- Generate staff and faculty I.D.s
- Process payment requests
