Sales Representative - Japanese Native Speaker ‹ Muskoka Language International ‹ Japan Guide - 2015


For 20 years, Muskoka Langugae International (MLI) has been helping Japanese schools and students have opportunities to travel and study in “Small Town Canada”. The leaders in the Canadian education market, MLI staff are specialists in designing and operating unique groups and ESL learning programs in beautiful communities across Canada, for students of all ages. Programs can include ESL with homestay, educational and cultural learning activities, and special interest tours. Programs include outdoor exploration, arts, cultural, environmental and other learning activities. There are many opportunities for participants to interact with local Canadians from the community.

Muskoka Language International (MLI) Japan is looking to add a new member for our sales & promotion office. The goal is to build a closer relationship with our network of agents and schools and to approach markets more proactively, especially in the west of Japan (Kansai, Shikoku, Kyushu, and western Honshu). MLI has been working with schools and families in Japan for 20 years to bring students to “Small Town” Canadian communities and schools. Japanese teens and families are increasingly looking into options for study abroad. Additionally, interest in Japan is growing in Canada and more and more Canadian students are coming to study in Japan in short-term and long-term programs. MLI works to help these students and their families (both Japanese and Canadian) realize their study goals


We are looking for a Japanese person who is self-starting, self-directed, entrepreneurial and with good time management, organization skills, and flexibility. Knowledge of or experience with the North American high school and university systems is important. Of course, business-level English skill is necessary for this position. A background in education, study abroad counseling, teaching, or other education would be highly regarded.


1) Japanese Level: Native



2) English Level: Advanced – Business Level



3) Understanding of the international education industry and/or travel industry



4) Knowledge of Japanese school system



5) Knowledge of the Canadian school system



6) Knowledge of the North American university system



7) Self-starting, Self-directed, and entrepreneurial



8) Well-organized, both in time and in documentation



9) Experience living and studying abroad, especially in North America, and preferably as a high school student



10) Homestay experience (preferred)



11) Ability to envision a project from beginning to end and with many factors taken into account.



12) Flexible in both time and spirit



13) Willing and able to travel
