Part-time Assistant Language Teacher in Western Tokyo
This will be a daily paid position scheduled for a mid/late-September start. The salary will be 11,000 yen per day, and this position will suit an energetic candidate desiring to broaden their understanding of Japan while teaching in a junior high school. The successful applicant must be outgoing, enjoy working with children, value teamwork and be willing to make their experience at school a positive one for both themselves and their students.
This is an ideal opportunity to build up your confidence and experience while teaching fun lessons and becoming an important member of a Japanese school community. The successful applicant will be focused on educating children rather than sales or business.
This is an unusual opportunity in that the teaching schedule is organized in blocks of ten to fifteen teaching days on, followed by five to eight days off. This creates an opportunity for the successful candidate to balance teaching with travel, sightseeing, hobbies, or other part-time work. The location is also very good, being less than 30 minutes from Shinjuku, and thus convenient to the entire Tokyo region. Finally, working exclusively at one school creates an opportunity to get to know the students and faculty better than most ALTs are able, and to really become part of the school community.
Benefits include:
* daytime working hours, around 8:30 - 16:00
* weekly blocks of work
* assistance in finding accommodation
* initial and follow-up training
* continual teacher support from experienced, native-English speaking HR staff
* visa renewal
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree/diploma
- Previous ALT experience in junior high school
Those with a communicative level of Japanese would be looked upon favorably as well as those who hold teaching qualifications. Please note, this position will require a commitment until March 2012.
While we will consider every application, we are only able to respond personally to successful applicants who pass the initial screening process
