A privately owned, UK-based global market research firm is currently looking to expand their sales team and is looking for an account manager to look after a portfolio of their Japanese multi-national clients.
Employee Value Proposition:
This is a firm with a very international feel to it. The right candidate is going to need to be completely at ease working in both Japanese and English. As a foreign capital company operating in Japan, the sales are focused on domestic firms but both the data platform as well as some internal communication will be in English when reporting to Singapore.
Although not yet a large operation, the company is committed and expanding in the Japanese market so it is a great time to join the team.
Responsibilities:
* As an account manager you will be responsible for building a strong business network with existing clients and will be in charge of 10 to 12 large accounts of 1st tier companies, increasing and educating the user base within those companies.
* In addition you will need to propose appropriate solutions to clients pertaining to company products and market research.
* You will also be responsible for contract renewals when required.
* Another important responsibility is the need to exchange information with clients to improve the company database by closely interacting with the research team internally.
Skills:
* You will need to be strong at making presentations and doing online demonstrations to clearly convey the true benefit of the market research your firm generates for their clients.
* Exceptional sales skills
* Peak performer
* Ability to negotiate with executives and director level in client companies.
Experience:
* Ideally at least 3 years corporate sales experience.
Language:
You will need strong English skills because both the research platform and some internal communication will be taking place in English.
You will need native level Japanese because although you will be calling global Japanese clients you will be expected to present, educate, negotiate and deliver solutions in Japanese.
