Assistant Language Teacher

AtoZ urgently requires an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) for one Junior High school in the town of Shimosuwa in the Nagano Prefecture. The position will commence from April 2nd 2012. This will be a rewarding position with training sessions both on the job and in Tokyo, the first of which will be a paid training day on the 25th of March, 2012.

AtoZ is well a respected locally based company that specializes in supporting ALTs in the beautiful Nagano prefecture. We pride ourselves on our friendly and honest working environment and currently employ over 40 teachers from 8 different countries. The position is full-time public Junior High; Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:15 – 16:45. As an AtoZ ALT you will be provided with a very generous package that includes subsidized accommodation and fully paid spring, summer, winter and other national and school holidays.

Due to the urgent start, only candidates currently within Japan (or who can arrive in Japan March 24th at the latest) are being considered. Japanese language abilities are advantageous but a friendly, positive and open minded attitude is a must.

Requirements:
*Native English (12 years education with English being the medium of instruction)
*Basic Japanese ability and willing to learn more
*Able to fulfill a one+ year working contract
*Positive attitude with a desire to interact with the school, community and the students.
*Must currently be residing in Japan or able to relocate to Japan before March 24th.
