Translator

A fulfilling position has arisen for an in-house translator at S & E Ltd., the office organization of Sonderhoff & Einsel, one of Japan’s most firmly established law and patent firms. S & E Ltd. is currently seeking an enthusiastic, responsible and self-motivated native GERMAN speaker.

The successful candidate will work as a full-time translator. Main duties include the responsible organization and actualization of the contents of the firm’s website in German and English, generation and translation of contents for the website and other marketing tools, and translation/checking JP-GE and JP-EN of patent applications, office actions, etc. with a focus on chemistry, electrical engineering/electronics or mechanical engineering.

Applicants are requested to satisfy the following requirements:
- Required language skills: German: native speaker, English: fluent, Japanese: fluent (JLPT 1)
- At least 3 years work experience
- Experience as technical, patent and/or legal translator preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German, English and Japanese
- Excellent interpersonal skills, good team worker
