Presales Engineer – Safe Financial Transaction Infrastructure (SFTI)

Responsibilities:

Define client needs, problems and reasons for buying.

Assist client in product/service evaluations and drive Proof of Concept projects.

Prepare implementation plans.

Prepare solution descriptions and designs.

Provide an interface between sales, business and engineering.

Assist sales with targeted portfolio presentations.

Ensure clean hand off from presales to delivery processes.

Requirements: Mandatory

5+ years’ experience in a technical customer-facing position.

1+ year’s experience in a development, operations or engineering role within a wide-area data networking and financial services infrastructure environment.

Working knowledge of network infrastructure and technologies including routing protocols (including BGP/OSPF), IP/MPLS networks and familiarity with Layer2/3.

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and Multicast network protocols.

Technical background and relevant industry experience.

Proven track record of exceptional performance, high productivity and meeting deadlines.

Clear and strong presentation skills.

Excellent problem solving abilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Japanese (native or JLPT level 1).

Ability to multi-task, prioritise and stay organised in a fast paced environment.

Proven ability to work as part of a wider team.

Ability to build relationships both with clients and internal departments.

Knowledge of the Financial Services Industry.

Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Visio.

Desirable

Working knowledge of networking equipment from common vendors.

Knowledge of market data domain and business practices.

Knowledge of market data systems, feeds, connectivity and common market data protocols.

Previous experience of exchange network connectivity and Market Access

Experience of SFTI and the Company Technologies products and services.

Experience of structured cabling, co-location, proximity hosting and data center management.
