Sales Team Leader

Overview:

This Role reports to Country Manager in Japan.

Responsibilities summary:

To drive business with clients in the Banking and Legal Industry (Investment Banks and Law Firms). Has the specific responsibility of developing relationships with advisers.

Manage a sales team as well as own sales targets.

Developing account plans for communication and focus.

Maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients via meetings, telephone calls and emails.

Creating and managing prospecting campaigns for new business that include:

o Prospecting for new business through new clients /channels
o Trade shows and events
o Visiting potential clients / channels to prospect for new business

Acting as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets.

Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales.

Gathering market and customer information.

Representing the organization at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.

Managing internal resources includes sales engineers, project managers, and other corporate resources to the benefit of the customer.

Recording sales, order information, contact information, and all activity in the internal CRM system (Salesforce.com).

Reporting to the Managing Director in Japan.

Reviewing own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish relationships with key decision-makers at channel accounts (Investment Bankers, Corporate Attorneys, etc.).

Work with Account Director to develop strategy and plans to gain greater market share with channel accounts

Work to source media, press releases and case study opportunities

Be responsible for the day-to-day activity in assigned accounts. Duties include:

o Monitoring and follow up on all current deals
o Facilitate introductions to new prospective clients
o Communicate issues and concerns to Product Management, Customer Service, Development, etc o Manage the contract and approval process on new deals

o Assist training of new users within our client base

o Coordinate sell-through opportunities with direct sales representatives as appropriate

Manage all information in our CRM system related to the account(s). This includes clients contacts, clients feedback etc.

Specific Experience or Background Required:

Product skills: Ability to give a customized demo which responds to client needs.

Selling skills: Proficient in all aspects of solution selling including discovery, giving polished presentations or demos, and providing a solution that clearly resolves an articulated customer pain. Able to network to and work with senior vice president and C-levels

Management skills: Ability to drive and motive a small sales team.

Team: Ability to work with technical teams and personnel to overcome service delivery obstacles. Able to participate effectively as part of and within a team atmosphere.

Personal attributes: Shows control and maturity in facing difficult situations, demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness, most successful in highly ambiguous situations, is driven for success, and has intellectual curiosity.

Other: Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently out of home office if necessary. Proficient knowledge of and ability to work with general PC business applications

Qualifications:

Educational Level Required:

Degree or equivalent experience in the position

Minimum Years and Kind of Work Experience:

5 years enterprise and/or business solution sales experience
Experience as a Team Leader of Sales team (or people management ability)
