Special Assistant to the Executive Director & Chairman IAB
The International Academic Forum is Asia’s Think Tank and is involved in
The Assistant Coordinator EMR will work with the Coordinator EMR in the general administration of the organization’s events, and in developing and executing marketing strategy and affiliations with domestic (Japanese) and international universities, educational institutions, publishing organizations and corporations.
The Assistant Coordinator will also act as the Special Assistant to the Chairman of the International Advisory Board and the Executive Director in the administration of the Japan International Liaison Committee, a Tokyo-based steering committee for the planned IAFOR Research Institute.
The ideal candidate will be confident in both written and spoken English and Japanese, and have excellent interpersonal and communicative skills. The candidate will be interested in working in a challenging international environment, with the strong opportunity for professional development and internal promotion.
A familiarity with Excel and MS word is expected.
Interview
Selected candidates will be invited to interview at the Nagoya office, and the interview will be undertaken in both English and Japanese.

General Conditions
Location
IAFOR Main Office: Nagoya Fushimi
Duration of Contract
1 year, renewable by mutual consent
Termination of Contract
No less than 1 month notice of termination by either employer or employee
Holidays
Work week Working days: week days 9:00-18:00 (Lunch=1 hour= 12:00-13:00)
Holidays: Saturday, Sunday and Japanese public holidays*
*Weekend work/Flextime
You may be expected to work weekends during conferences, and some evenings during peak preparation times (scheduling, etc) for which extra remuneration will not be received. If asked to work a Saturday or Sunday, or weekend day, a substitute holiday is to be given and taken within the next two weeks or upon mutual agreement.
Annual Vacation/Leave (20 working days) - To be decided by Employer
Christmas/New Year: 1 week (5 working days), Spring; 1 week (5 working days), Summer: 2 weeks (10 working days)
