The Developer is primarily responsible for supporting the delivery of our products and services in partnership with Portfolio Managers and the Business Analyst team. A key part of this role includes analysing and managing the data ensuring quality and accuracy at all times; attention to detail is essential.
The role requires an analytical and logical mind that is able to support the development cycle for the global benchmarking programmes conducted by CMR. Working as part of a small team, the Developer will focus on SQL and Tibco Spotfire development to provide Business Logic and Front End development for internal and external customers.
Specific Areas of Responsibility:
Specific areas of responsibility the post holder will have to meet on a day to day basis:
Develop and audit TSQL analyses on large and complex datasets
Carry out .NET and TSQL development to deliver client deliverables and internal projects, ensuring that this work meets CMR standards, fits the needs of the business and is demonstrated to be robust and sound when audited and tested
Produce clear and thorough technical documentation
Communicate effectively and timely with other IT staff, peers and senior managers so that everyone understands the progress and risks of the activities being undertaken
To take ownership of systems, being responsible for ongoing maintenance and support
To maintain knowledge of programming languages such as .NET and TSQL and acquire new skills as on-going development
To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by line manager on a permanent or temporary basis
Willingness to work outside normal hours and be on call; when the pressure of work deems it necessary

Essential
Intermediate\Advanced knowledge and experience of TSQL and SQL Server 2005 (including stored procedures, cursors, UDF's)
Experienced in developing web applications using VB.NET, TSQL, HTML, Javascript and stylesheets
Experienced in developing Tibco Spotfire tools.
Good understanding of relational database design
Experienced in software development lifecycles
Relevant experience of programming business critical software
Clear thinker and the ability to work well within teams
Attention to detail
Excellent written and oral skills
A well organized approach, with demonstrable ability to work to challenging deadlinesDesirable
Experience with SQL Server Integration Services, Reporting Services and/or Analysis Services
Experience of basic Windows Server and IIS 6+ administration
