Junior High School ALT in Nagoya city

This is a full-time position for the remainder of this school year from early September to the end of March 2013. School however ends in mid-February so while the ALT does not actually have to work through to March, salary will still be paid in full in all non-teaching periods including the lengthy winter break.

ALTs work in public schools assisting the Japanese teachers, and helping to provide a positive and energetic experience through English for the students. Successful applicants should be available for Orientation/Training for 4 full days in Nagoya city before being placed into the schools as early in September as possible. They must be flexible, enjoy working with young children, and be motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for their students. A strong desire to live and work in Japan, good Japanese language skills, and teaching experience with young learners is also highly recommended. A minimum BA/BS degree is required, and a degree in a relevant field such as Japanese, Japanese History, East Asian Studies, Linguistics and the like are particularly useful though not absolutely necessary.
