Sales Engineer

The Task:
?Assist the company to promote sales
?Manage and progress technical sales requests
?Product training distributors in their premises
?Provide applications engineering support to distributors
?To manage the RMA process end to end

Requirements:
?Technical sales experience would be an advantage
?Good background in electronics and engineering
?Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
?Good background in engineering and electronics.

Salary is dependant to experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION - Sales Engineer
Role
The purpose of the role is to provide technical sales support for the company. There is an opportunity for the sales duties to increase in the future for the right candidate.
Almost all sales are through our 35 distributors. There are a number of direct OEM customers, which may increase in future.

Products

The products fall into four categories:

Machine Vision LED lighting controllers
This is our core business. We are the world leader in technology in this field. We are probably the world leader in sales, with the exception of Japan.

Machine Vision LED Lights
This business is relatively new. We have some unique products about to be launched.

Traffic monitoring strobe lights
This is a potentially very large market. We believe we are currently the world technology leader by a long distance.

High end surveillance lighting
This is a new market for us. It is a more crowded market and we haven't yet decided on our route to market.
We wish to find other niche markets to exploit with our technology.

Job Description
?The job title is Sales Engineer
?Reporting to the Sales Manager
?Worldwide travel
?Producing training material
?Monitor, track and follow up sale-or-returns and loans
?Training worldwide network of 35 distributors
?Managing day to day communications with distributors
?Producing sales material, including data sheets
?Provide detailed technical information to customers and make recommendations of which products to use
?Investigating the technical feasibility of sales requests, liaising with Engineering
?Organising presentations, seminars
?Organising and exhibiting at appropriate shows (currently about 5 per year)
?Providing technical support, working with others
?Managing and updating website content
?Sales returns analysis and reporting
?Action items arising from sales visits
?To manage the RMA process end to end including where possible, recommending product design improvements
